調査会社ChainalysisによるとEthereum供給量の30%は個人が保有している調査結果に！

Ethereumの30%を376人の個人が保有していると発表 - Chainalysis

Chainalysis（チェイナリシス）のInsightsによると、Ethereum（イーサリアム）の循環供給量の約3割にあたる33％は｢クジラ｣と呼ばれる大口の個人投資家が保有していると発表しています。

We define whales as the top 500 holders of cryptocurrency, excluding services, who store their holdings off exchanges.
Distinguishing the whales from services is the most difficult step in this analysis, and can only be done with years’ worth of blockchain data that has been linked to real-world entities.
As of May 1, 2019, of the top 500 largest holders, 124 were services, and the remaining 376 were individual whales.
We found that these 376 whales control 33% of the circulating supply in 2019, down from 47% in 2016.

This is because most of the whales (~60%) are holding their assets or not regularly trading with exchanges.

1. Ether prices follow Bitcoin prices.
   On average, a 1% increase in Bitcoin prices yesterday leads to a 1.1% increase in Ether prices today. We find no statistically significant impact of Bitcoin prices on Ether intraday volatility.
2. Funds sent do impact volatility but not price.
   Funds that whales send to exchanges do not directly impact Ether price but they do contribute to price volatility. On average, a whale that sends 1 million USD worth of ether two days ago leads to a 0.1 unit increase in intraday volatility today, which is relatively small considering values of intraday volatility range from 0.02 minimum to 417 maximum.‍
3. Funds received have no impact.
   Funds that whales receive from exchanges do not impact Ether prices, nor intraday volatility.

ステーブルコインの需要が一年で約2倍に拡大 - Binance Research

Binance社（バイナンス社）のBinance Research（バイナンス リサーチ）によるThe Evolution of Stablecoins（ステーブルコインの進化）と題されたReport（レポート、報告）によると、ステーブルコイン（stablecoins、Fiat（法定通貨）にペッグ（釘付け）された、特定の法定通貨と同じ価値を持つ仮想通貨）の需要が一年で約2倍となっています。

また同報告書の最後でフェイスブッックとサムスンがリリースを予定しているとされるステーブルコインについても触れており、技術的な詳細は不明だがあらゆるニーズに対応できる可能性があり、ステーブルコインの｢ゲームチェンジャー｣（game changers、流れを変える選手の意味で、ここではTehter社のステーブルコイン（USDT）一強の現状の流れを変える存在になるか？と例えている）になりうるのではと指摘しています。

3.3 Increasing participation of non-financial institutions: could Facebook Coin and Samsung Coin become future game changers?

Whereas technical details are still pending, including whether this digital currency would run on an existing blockchain or a new one built from scratch, and whether its blockchain would be public or private (such as an implementation of Quorum with the JPM Coin).

Regardless, Facebook has an entire ecosystem across its Facebook, Messenger, Whatsapp, and Instagram products that could integrate this future digital currency.
With a user base in the billions, end-uses could span from international remittances to payment for premium content (e.g. games) for individual users and services such as advertising campaigns, etc. for businesses.

9銘柄の取引停止を発表 - Poloniex

米の大手仮想通貨取引所Poloniexが5月16日米国在住ユーザーを対象に仮想通貨9銘柄の取引停止を発表しています。

発表のあった通貨の中には、現在日本のbitFlyer、coincheckでも取引可能なLisk（LSK）、また過去にcoincheckで取引可能だったAugur（REP）が含まれています。

CoinbaseがXapo買収か - The Block

米の大手仮想通貨取引所Coinbase（コインベース）が、カストディ（資産管理）サービスを手がけるXapo（ザポ）買収に向けて交渉を開始したとThe Block（ザ ブロック）が関係筋の話として報じています。

Coinbase in advanced talks to acquire Xapo: sources

Regulated U.S.-based cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase is in advanced talks to buy custody provider Xapo for about $50 million to boost its custody business, people familiar with the matter said on Thursday. Xapo’s CEO Wences Cesares is a serial entrepreneur from Argentina known to be one of the biggest champions of bitcoin from its earliest days.

Sources cautioned that the deal has yet to close, and requested anonymity due to the confidentiality and fluid nature of the talks.
